The Association's next event is a two-day Khanacross and Junior Motorkhana on
15th & 16th August at
The Reef and Rainforest Track, North Mossman.
As well as being a normal club round it is also Round 2 of the Interclub Championship against the FNQMSC
Entries open at 7.00 am on 15th August
Scrutineering is from 7.00 am until 8.30 on Saturday and from 7 am until
8 am on Sunday
Drivers briefing is at 8.45 am on Saturday and at 8.30 am on
Sunday
Competition starts at 9.00 am and will run through until approx.
4.30 pm on Saturday.
Competition resumes at 8.30 am on Sunday and will run through
until approx. 1.00 pm.
Competitors may compete on either or both days.
Camping will be available at the track on Friday and Saturday.
Entry fee includes Saturday night dinner and Sunday Breakfast.
Saturday brekky and lunch on both days will be available to purchase.
Motorkhana and Khanacross are single vehicle, timed events run on a dirt track and are designed to test the acceleration, braking and general manoeuvrability of the vehicle and the skill and judgment of the driver.
It is a great way for kids to learn to drive in the middle of a large paddock at low speeds in a safe and controlled environment under adult supervision
The club has cars available for use by competitors who do not have their own vehicles.
Cost is $20 for adults and is free for juniors.
All cars must pass a basic safety check, have the battery covered and secured, a 900-gram fire extinguisher securely fitted and have an operational horn fitted.
Minimum apparel is shorts, shirt, covered shoes and a helmet meeting AS1698 standards. (Helmet not required for Junior Motorkhana)
Drivers must be a member of a Motorsport Australia affiliated club and hold at least a MA speed license. (Can be purchased on the day)
